I’ve had some products in work for awhile and have just had an opportunity to get them listed in my Etsy shop. Use coupon code 25PERCENTOFF before December 31 for 25% off any item over $10.00! These are one of a kind and certified Made in Alaska. More finished pieces to come soon, and I am actively working on and experimenting with several new items.

Black crystal rivets and gear stamps keyfob:
I just finished five fun keyfobs for the Rage City Rollergirls Black Eye & Tie silent auction fundraiser at House of Harley-Davidson on Spenard on October 10, 2015. Retail prices range from $8-11. From left to right, Broken Heart leather keyfob with concho and recycled red leather heart; Flaming Dice leather keyfob with concho and punched stars; Skull Cameo leather keyfob; Silver Gear leather keyfob; Rose and Stars leather keyfob with iridescent crystal rivets. You can buy tickets to the event HERE.
I just finished and mailed off this love journal for a young couple who live in Japan. It has lined pages for writing, blank pages for drawings, and a zipper pouch and slots for mementos.
I was fortunate to be asked to do a bit of restoration on this family rocking horse, long handed down. I made new ears out of moose hide, fashioned a seat out of a recycled jacket sleeve, and created a cow hide initial tag for the new 1 1/2-year-old owner. Every cowboy needs a brand, right?
I just added two new readymade items to my Etsy shop. The first one I’m really excited about sharing, since it was labor-intensive (21 hours) and I had it in mind for years before forces finally converged or stars finally aligned or whatever.
This mini-tote is handmade from top to bottom, including handles, and stamped with material from the beginning of “A Vindication of the Rights of Woman: with Strictures on Political and Moral Subjects” by Mary Wollstonecraft, 1792 (from the Project Gutenberg edition). The second item is a convertible clutch and shoulder purse with leather lacing in a double loopstitch: black on black. Has checkbook and register holder, zippered pockets, credit card slots, currency pockets, photo slots, and more. Click the photo to go straight to the listing.

Happy Holiday Season, All!
I just realized I haven’t updated the site in awhile, but that doesn’t mean I’ve been dormant. I have a large selection of readymade items about to hit my Etsy shop and a report on a variety of custom projects I’ve made and rehomed in the past little while.
Also: I’ve delivered a bunch of new snarky keyfobs to Bella Boutique on Spenard (exclusive! you can only get them there). We added SPENARD, 907, ANC, and others. We have something new on tap: an exclusive-to-Bella product I’m calling a keepsake gift tag (you can write on it in Sharpie). Go say Hi to Annie and pick up some local, handmade gifts for your pals. Thanks!
I made a big batch of cheeky keyfobs by request of Bella Boutique on Spenard in Anchorage, and you can only get them there. The last batch sold out! Tell Annie, the owner, that Saxifrage Leather sent you. WTF, SHIT, LOL, FML, and ALASKA in a variety of finishes.
The basement-dwelling Dilettante cartoonist is back! This time he drew up a special-request belt of kookiness for me to color and finish. That special requester was Greg Morgan of Greg A. Morgan Photography, and you ought to check out his cool Alaska photos! He’s been a loyal friend and supporter of Alaska roller derby since its inception as well and is just an all-around sweet dude.
I’m working on a couple repairs at the moment and will start two more custom jobs this month (I know, I know, I said no more custom jobs, but they are just so fun and my customers are the best. My own ideas aren’t going to wither up and die. All in good time). Meanwhile, check out my Etsy shop, go give a like on Facebook, and join my mailing list (the volume is ridiculously low, but I try to make it worth your while). Somehow we’ll keep in touch! Thanks.
p.s., Check out the little icon at the bottom of my website with the rotating windmill. My website is powered by renewable energy and has been since day one. If you click on that windmill and sign up using that link, you will not only be rad, but you will help support my work. You can also use this link.
Please visit my Etsy shop for two new items I made over the summer but just got around to posting. D’oh! Thanks for visiting.
